The Hair & Scalp Health Treatment Hub
Exclusive to House of Trichology patients
Welcome to The Hair & Scalp Health Hub.
This private page has been created exclusively for House of Trichology patients as a calm, evidence‑based space to explore the treatment options we discussed during your consultation. It serves as a curated library of the treatments I commonly recommend in clinical practice, offering clear explanations of how each one works and the science behind them.
This hub is intended as additional reading to support your understanding and confidence. Not all treatments listed here will be suitable or necessary for your specific diagnosis, so please refer back to your personalised plan for the steps most appropriate for you. For this reason, and because this resource is designed solely for clinical use, please keep this link for your personal use only.
Hair & Scalp Care
A gentle foundation for healthy hair and a balanced scalp.
Healthy hair starts with consistent, gentle habits. The recommendations below are designed to support your scalp, protect fragile strands, and complement any treatment plan you’re following at House of Trichology. Nothing here is complicated or time consuming. Just small, intentional choices that make a meaningful difference over time.
Choosing the right products:
Every scalp is unique, which means your routine should be tailored to your needs. The right shampoo supports your current scalp condition, your diagnosis, and your comfort. Not every product will be a winner!
Growth Stimulating Shampoos
Growth stimulating shampoos don’t regrow hair on their own, but they do help create a healthier environment for follicles. They support your treatment plan by reducing inflammation, improving scalp comfort, and keeping follicles clear so they can function at their best.
How they support growth
• Encourage healthier microcirculation
• Reduce inflammation around the follicle
• Remove buildup that can interfere with growth
• Support stronger keratin production
Key ingredients to look for
• Caffeine – supports follicle activity
• Niacinamide – strengthens the scalp barrier and calms inflammation
• Peptides – help reinforce the hair fibre
• Salicylic Acid – gently exfoliates and keeps follicles clear
• Menthol – offers cooling comfort and may support circulation
These shampoos work best when used consistently and alongside your personalised treatment plan.
Anti-DHT Shampoos
These shampoos are specifically designed for people with androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss), where the hormone DHT contributes to gradual follicle miniaturisation. They don’t treat hair loss on their own, but they can support scalp comfort, reduce inflammation, and help maintain a clearer environment for follicles as part of a wider treatment plan.
They’re not usually necessary for conditions such as chronic telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, postpartum shedding, or traction related issues. So they should only be used if they align with your diagnosis.
Scalp Care Shampoos (For Diagnosed Scalp Conditions)
When you’re managing a diagnosed scalp condition, the right shampoo becomes part of your treatment plan. These formulas help calm inflammation, reduce symptoms, and create a healthier scalp environment so follicles can function more comfortably.
How Scalp Care Shampoos Support the Scalp
• Reduce inflammation and soothe irritation of the scalp
• Help manage flaking, scaling, and redness
• Lower yeast or bacterial activity on the scalp
• Slow excessive cell turnover (mitosis), which helps reduce thick scale and plaque formation
• Keep follicles clearer and more comfortable
Key Ingredients to Look For
• Coal Tar – slows excessive skin cell turnover (mitosis) and helps soften thick scale
• Ketoconazole – reduces yeast activity and inflammation, especially helpful in seborrheic dermatitis
• Piroctone Olamine – antifungal and soothing, supports a balanced scalp microbiome
• Salicylic Acid – gently exfoliates and helps lift scale
• Zinc Pyrithione – calms irritation and reduces flaking
• Selenium Sulphide – helps control yeast activity and persistent dandruff
Conditions These Shampoos Commonly Support
• Seborrheic Dermatitis – flaking, itching, redness
• Psoriasis – thick, adherent plaques and inflammation
• Pityriasis Amiantacea – heavy, shell like scaling attached to the hair
• Folliculitis – inflamed or infected follicles causing bumps or tenderness
These shampoos work best when used consistently and alongside your personalised treatment plan.
Conditioners (Protecting the Hair Fibre)
Conditioner doesn’t affect hair growth, but it does play a crucial role in protecting the hair you already have. Fragile strands are more prone to breakage, tangling and dryness. Especially when you’re experiencing shedding or thinning. A good conditioner keeps the fibre smooth, hydrated, and resilient.
Everyday Hair Care & Styling
Everyday styling and general hair care should feel gentle, simple, and protective. Light leave‑ins, heat protectants, and lightweight, non‑heavy styling products help maintain softness and reduce friction without weighing the hair down or irritating the scalp. Try to keep heat use minimal and choose styles that avoid tension on the hairline. Small habits such as brushing gently, keeping tools clean, and using soft scrunchies instead of tight elastics all support healthier strands over time.
Switching to a silk or satin pillowcase can also make a noticeable difference. These fabrics create far less friction than cotton, helping to reduce breakage, preserve moisture, and keep the hair feeling smoother between washes. If you’re managing a scalp condition or tend to produce excess oil, changing your pillowcase more frequently can help keep the scalp environment cleaner and more comfortable. It’s also helpful to gently blow‑dry the scalp area after washing, as reducing excess moisture at the roots can support a calmer, more balanced scalp. Microfibre towels and soft accessories can offer additional support, especially during periods of increased shedding or fragility, but they’re optional rather than essential.
Maintaining hair and scalp health is most effective when the core elements of your routine work together consistently. Using the appropriate shampoo and conditioner for your diagnosis, cleansing at the recommended frequency, and keeping daily styling gentle all help support a balanced scalp environment and reduce unnecessary stress on the hair. Your personalised treatment plan, created during your consultation, outlines the specific products, frequencies, and techniques best suited to your condition. Referring back to that plan regularly will help ensure you’re following the most appropriate approach for your scalp needs and treatment goals.
Diet & Nutritional Support
A supportive dietary foundation for stronger hair and a healthier scalp.
Nutrition plays a central role in supporting healthy hair growth, and the scalp responds best when the body has consistent access to the nutrients it needs. While no single food or supplement can reverse a hair or scalp condition on its own, a balanced, nutrient dense diet helps create the internal environment required for optimal follicle function. Key nutrients such as protein, iron, zinc, essential fatty acids, and a range of vitamins all contribute to the strength, structure, and growth cycle of the hair. Your personalised treatment plan outlines any specific nutritional considerations relevant to your diagnosis, including whether blood tests or targeted supplementation have been recommended. This section provides general guidance to support your overall hair health alongside your clinical treatment plan.
Protein
Protein is essential for hair structure and growth, as each strand is made primarily of keratin. Consistent intake supports the production of new hair fibres and helps maintain strength. Useful sources include eggs, poultry, fish, Greek yoghurt, tofu, beans, lentils, and nuts. Including a source of protein at each meal helps keep levels steady throughout the day.
Iron
Iron supports healthy follicle activity and oxygen delivery to the scalp. Low iron stores are a common contributor to increased shedding. Iron rich foods include lean red meat, poultry, eggs, lentils, beans, spinach, and fortified cereals. Pairing plant based iron sources with vitamin C–rich foods (such as peppers, berries, or citrus fruits) can support absorption.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D plays a role in immune regulation and healthy follicle cycling. It is also relevant in certain scalp conditions, including psoriasis, where adequate levels can help support a calmer, more regulated skin response. While sunlight is the primary source, dietary options include oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines, as well as fortified milks and cereals. Your personalised treatment plan will outline whether testing or targeted supplementation has been recommended.
Biotin & B Vitamins
Biotin is often marketed for hair growth, but true deficiency is rare. However, the broader B vitamin group (B2, B3, B6, B9, B12) supports energy metabolism and healthy cell turnover within the follicle. Foods naturally rich in B vitamins include eggs, whole grains, leafy greens, legumes, poultry, and dairy.
Antioxidants
Oxidative stress can affect the hair growth cycle. Antioxidant rich foods help support a healthier scalp environment and protect follicle cells. Useful sources include berries, citrus fruits, peppers, tomatoes, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and green tea.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Omega 3s help support scalp comfort and reduce dryness or irritation. They are found in oily fish, walnuts, chia seeds and flaxseeds. Including these foods regularly can help maintain a calmer, more balanced scalp environment.
Zinc & Other Micronutrients
Zinc, B vitamins, and antioxidants all contribute to healthy hair growth and repair. Helpful sources include seafood, poultry, whole grains, nuts, seeds, leafy greens, and a wide variety of colourful fruits and vegetables. A balanced, varied diet naturally provides these nutrients without the need for excessive supplementation.
Hydration
Adequate hydration supports overall scalp function and helps maintain the hair’s natural flexibility. Water, herbal teas, and hydrating foods such as fruits and vegetables all contribute to daily fluid intake.
Calorie Deficits, Restrictive Diets & Hair Health
Significant calorie deficits, rapid weight loss, and restrictive eating patterns can place the body under metabolic stress. When energy intake is too low, the body prioritises essential organs over non essential processes such as hair growth, which can trigger increased shedding (telogen effluvium). Very low carbohydrate diets, including ketogenic diets, may also impact hair by reducing overall energy availability and limiting key nutrients involved in follicle function. If you are following a structured diet for medical or personal reasons, ensuring adequate protein, iron, and micronutrient intake is especially important. Your personalised treatment plan will highlight any nutritional considerations relevant to your diagnosis.
Supporting hair growth through nutrition is most effective when your overall dietary pattern is balanced, consistent, and aligned with your clinical treatment plan. Adequate energy intake, steady protein, and a wide range of vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats all help create the internal conditions your follicles need to function optimally. While nutrition alone cannot correct medical causes of hair loss, it plays a meaningful supportive role in scalp health and the hair growth cycle. Your personalised treatment plan outlines any specific nutritional considerations, testing, or supplementation relevant to your diagnosis, and referring back to that guidance will help ensure you’re following the most appropriate approach for your individual needs.
Supplements
Thoughtful, clinically guided supplementation to support your individual needs.
Supplements can play a supportive role in hair and scalp health, but they are most effective when used to correct a confirmed deficiency or meet a specific clinical need. They are not a replacement for a balanced diet, and taking unnecessary supplements can sometimes be unhelpful. If you are awaiting blood test results, it is important to send these through once available so we can determine whether supplement support is necessary and ensure any recommendations align with your diagnosis. Your personalised treatment plan outlines any supplements advised for your condition, including appropriate duration and monitoring.
Hair Specific Supplements & Common Myths
Many hair specific supplements are marketed as universal solutions for hair loss, but most do not address the underlying causes of shedding or scalp conditions. These products often contain a mixture of vitamins, minerals, and botanicals, but unless they correct a confirmed deficiency, they rarely provide meaningful benefit. Biotin, for example, is frequently promoted for hair growth, yet true deficiency is uncommon, and taking high doses without clinical need is unnecessary. “Hair gummies” and beauty blends can also be misleading, as they typically contain low doses of key nutrients and may include added sugars or flavourings without offering therapeutic value. Effective supplementation should always be guided by your diagnosis, blood test results, and the specific needs identified in your personalised treatment plan alongside a healthy, well-balanced diet.
Biotin
Biotin is heavily marketed for hair growth, but true deficiency is rare. In most cases, taking high dose biotin offers no additional benefit and can interfere with certain blood tests. Supplementation is only useful when a deficiency is confirmed.
When it helps: Biotin supports keratin production, so correcting a deficiency can improve brittle nails and hair fragility, but only when levels are genuinely low.
Collagen
Collagen powders and drinks can support general skin health, including skin elasticity and hydration, but evidence for direct hair growth benefits is limited. They may contribute amino acids that support overall protein intake, but they do not treat underlying causes of hair loss.
When it helps: Collagen provides glycine, proline and hydroxyproline which are amino acids used in structural proteins.
Hair Gummies & Beauty Blends
These products often contain low doses of key nutrients and may include added sugars or flavourings. They can appear appealing but rarely provide therapeutic levels of vitamins or minerals. They are not a substitute for clinically guided supplementation.
When they help: They may offer a gentle top up of general vitamins for someone with a very limited diet, but they do not correct deficiencies or treat hair loss conditions.
Multivitamins
A standard multivitamin can help cover general nutritional gaps, but it will not correct a specific deficiency such as low iron, vitamin D, or B12. Targeted supplementation based on blood test results is far more effective.
When it helps: Useful for general nutritional insurance in people with restricted diets, low appetite, or inconsistent intake but not as a treatment for shedding.
‘DHT Blocking’ Supplements
Products marketed as natural DHT blockers, such as pumpkin seed oil, saw palmetto, and certain botanical blends are often promoted for hair thinning. While early studies suggest they may offer mild benefit for androgenetic alopecia, the evidence is limited and far less consistent than clinically approved treatments. These supplements are not necessary or effective for any other hair loss condition, including telogen effluvium, where DHT is not part of the underlying mechanism. They do not address triggers such as low iron, thyroid changes, illness, stress and they can interact with certain medications.
When they help: Only potentially useful in androgenetic alopecia, where DHT contributes to follicle miniaturisation.
Vitamin B12
Low B12 can contribute to fatigue and general wellbeing changes, but it is not a common direct cause of hair loss unless levels are significantly low.
When it helps: When blood tests show deficiency, especially in vegans, vegetarians, or those with absorption issues.
Iron (Ferrous Fumarate / Ferrous Sulphate / Gentle Iron)
Iron deficiency is one of the leading causes of telogen effluvium.
When it helps: Effective only when blood tests shows low ferritin. Iron supplementation without confirmed deficiency carries risks, including iron overload, which can be dangerous. When levels are genuinely low, restoring iron stores can significantly support hair recovery
Vitamin D
Low vitamin D is common and may contribute to immune dysregulation, but it is not a standalone cause of hair loss.
When it helps: When blood tests show deficiency or insufficiency.
Omega 3 (Fish Oil / Algal Oil)
Supports general inflammation balance and scalp health, but not a direct hair growth treatment.
When it helps: Useful for dry scalp, low dietary intake, or general wellbeing.
Most supplements play a supportive role only when they correct a confirmed deficiency or meet a specific clinical need. Taking products “just in case” rarely improves hair growth and can sometimes delay the right investigations or treatment. Your personalised plan outlines exactly what is appropriate for your diagnosis, and if you are awaiting blood test results, sending these through once available ensures any supplement recommendations are safe, necessary, and aligned with your hair and scalp needs.
Cosmetic Enhancers
Discreet, confidence boosting cosmetic options to enhance your hair while treatment progresses.
Cosmetic enhancers can make a meaningful difference to how your hair looks and feels while your treatment plan is underway. These options do not affect the underlying biology of hair growth, but they can offer immediate confidence, fuller looking density, and discreet coverage of thinning areas. Below are some of the most effective approaches.
CombLine (Available In Clinic)
CombLine is a specialist hair extension technique designed to add density and enhance the appearance of thinning areas. It uses ultra fine hair extensions secured with tiny micro bonds, allowing them to blend seamlessly with your own hair for a natural, undetectable finish. Because the bonds are so small and lightweight, CombLine can be applied across almost any area of the scalp including partings, crowns, and hairlines without creating bulk or tension. The technique is gentle, with minimal to no damage when applied correctly.
This service is available in clinic, where it is performed with precision to ensure soft, natural looking density tailored to your individual needs.
To find out more or explore whether this technique is right for you, you can book a CombLine consultation in clinic.
Hair Fibres
Hair fibres are a quick, effective way to reduce the appearance of visible scalp and create the look of fuller density. They attach to individual strands, making each hair appear up to 30% thicker, which helps to disguise parting lines, crown thinning, and areas that look sparse under bright light. When colour matched correctly, fibres blend seamlessly with your natural hair and can be layered for a stronger effect. They wash out easily, offering flexible, day to day coverage without commitment.
Wigs
Modern wigs offer natural looking, full coverage for anyone experiencing significant thinning or patchy hair loss. High quality synthetic and human hair options are now lightweight, breathable, and designed to mimic natural movement and scalp appearance. They provide complete flexibility with style, length, and colour, allowing you to choose a look that feels most like you or explore something entirely new! Wigs require no commitment and can be an empowering way to restore confidence while treatment progresses.
Toppers
Toppers are partial hairpieces designed to blend seamlessly with your own hair, adding volume and coverage exactly where you need it. Typically, at the crown, parting, or frontal area. They come in a range of base sizes, lengths, and densities, allowing for a personalised fit that sits discreetly against the scalp. When colour matched and styled correctly, toppers integrate beautifully with your natural hair, offering a subtle boost in fullness without the need for full coverage solutions.
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)
Scalp Micropigmentation is a specialised cosmetic tattooing technique that creates the appearance of fuller density by placing tiny pigment dots across areas of visible scalp. When performed well, it softens wide partings, reduces contrast in thinning zones, and gives the illusion of thicker, more uniform coverage. SMP can be tailored to your hair colour, pattern of thinning, and desired level of subtlety, making it suitable for both diffuse thinning and patchy areas. Results are long lasting, low maintenance, and very natural when carried out by an experienced practitioner.
Cosmetic enhancers can offer immediate confidence and a sense of control while your clinical treatment works on the underlying cause of your hair loss. Whether you prefer subtle density boosts or fuller coverage solutions, the right option should feel natural, comfortable, and aligned with your personal style. Together, we can explore what feels most supportive for you at this stage of your journey.
The TrichoTest®
Personalised genetic insights to guide the most effective treatment choices for your hair.
TrichoTest® is an advanced genetic test designed to help personalise your hair loss treatment plan. It analyses specific variations across multiple genes involved in inflammation, hormone metabolism, blood flow, oxidative stress, and nutrient pathways. All of which can influence how your body responds to different therapies. The test does not diagnose hair loss, but it provides an additional layer of insight that can be especially valuable when:
• you’ve tried several treatments with limited success
• your response to medication has been unpredictable
• you want a more tailored, evidence based approach
• you have a complex or long standing hair loss history
Using a simple cheek swab, the test examines how your genetic profile may affect the effectiveness or tolerability of certain treatments, including topical and oral medications, supplements, and anti inflammatory approaches. The final report is detailed but easy to interpret, highlighting which treatment pathways are likely to be most beneficial and which may be less effective for you.
Your results are reviewed by our pharmacy partner The Compounding Chemist and translated into clear, practical recommendations that align with your diagnosis, medical history, and long term goals. This allows your treatment plan to be more targeted, efficient, and personalised from the outset.
If you’d like to explore whether TrichoTest® could support your treatment plan, you’re welcome to reach out for more information. The test is £300.
Medicated Treatments
Safe, considered medicated treatments selected to align with your specific diagnosis and goals.
Minoxidil
Minoxidil is a topical medication that helps extend the growth phase of the hair cycle and increase blood flow to the follicles, supporting thicker, stronger regrowth. When starting treatment, it’s completely normal to experience an initial increase in shedding. This happens because older, resting hairs are being pushed out to make way for new, healthier strands. Over the following weeks, shedding typically settles, and many people notice reduced fall and improved density.
Minoxidil can be used as a short term supportive treatment for conditions such as alopecia areata, telogen effluvium, and traction alopecia. Once the underlying trigger has been addressed, it can often be successfully tapered and discontinued without losing the progress made.
For progressive hair loss conditions such as androgenetic alopecia, minoxidil works only for as long as it is used. If treatment is stopped, any regrowth or stabilisation achieved will gradually revert, and the underlying pattern of thinning will continue.
Contraindications & When Minoxidil May Not Be Suitable
Minoxidil is not appropriate for everyone. It should not be used in the following situations:
• During pregnancy or breastfeeding
• If you have a known allergy or sensitivity to minoxidil or any ingredient in the formulation
• On broken, irritated, or inflamed skin
• If you have uncontrolled cardiovascular conditions, including certain heart rhythm disorders
• If you experience chest pain, dizziness, fainting, rapid heartbeat, or swelling after use. Treatment should be stopped and medical advice sought
• If you are under 18 (unless specifically advised by a medical professional)
A pharmacy or prescribing clinician will always review your medical history to ensure minoxidil is safe and appropriate before recommending it.
Personalised Medications & Compounded Treatments
As trichologists, we do not prescribe medicated treatments. However, we work closely with our trusted pharmacy partner, The Compounding Chemist, who provides personalised formulations when appropriate. Before suggesting any medication, their clinical team reviews a detailed medical history to ensure suitability, safety, and effectiveness.
Any prescription arranged through House of Trichology requires:
• Completion of a medical questionnaire
• Submission of valid photo ID
• Attendance at a Medication Check In appointment at least twice per year
These check ins allow us to monitor your progress, ensure your treatment remains effective, and make any necessary adjustments in collaboration with the pharmacy.
How the TrichoTest Can Help
The TrichoTest is a genetic test that analyses how your body is likely to respond to different medicated hair loss treatments. This can be extremely helpful when deciding whether minoxidil, or any other medicated option, is likely to be effective for you. By understanding your genetic pathways, the test can guide more personalised treatment choices and reduce the trial and error often associated with medicated therapies.
You can read more about this in the TrichoTest tab.
Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Safe, therapeutic light technology to complement your personalised hair‑health plan.
What is low level laser therapy?
LLLT is a non invasive, light based treatment that helps stimulate hair follicles at a cellular level. It works by delivering specific wavelengths of red laser light directly to the scalp, encouraging increased energy production within the follicle, improving blood flow, and supporting stronger, healthier hair growth over time.
How LLLT Works
LLLT uses medical grade laser diodes (not LEDs) to penetrate deeper into the scalp tissues. This light energy is absorbed by the cells within the follicle, helping to:
• Extend the active growth (anagen) phase
• Improve follicle strength and function
• Reduce inflammation around the follicle
• Support thicker, denser regrowth
Because it works at a cellular level, results build gradually with consistent use.
How LLLT Differs From Standard Red Light Therapy
Although both use red wavelengths, they are not the same treatment.
• LLLT uses coherent laser light, which penetrates deeper and delivers a more targeted therapeutic effect.
• Red light therapy typically uses LEDs, which scatter light more broadly and do not reach the follicle with the same intensity or precision.
This deeper penetration is what makes LLLT specifically effective for hair growth support.
How Effective Is LLLT?
Clinical studies show that LLLT can help increase hair density, reduce shedding, and improve overall hair quality when used consistently. It is most effective when used as part of a wider treatment plan.
Results are gradual, typically becoming noticeable after 12–16 weeks of consistent use.
HairMax Partnership

www.hairmax.co.uk
Contraindications & Safety Considerations
LLLT is generally very safe, but it may not be suitable for everyone. It should be avoided in the following situations:
• Pregnancy (due to limited safety data)
• Active scalp cancer or a history of skin cancer on the scalp
• Photosensitivity disorders
• Use of photosensitising medications
• Open wounds, active infections, or severe inflammation on the scalp
• Epilepsy (caution advised with light‑based therapies)
• Recent scalp surgery (until fully healed)
A medical or pharmacy professional should review suitability if you have cardiovascular conditions, autoimmune skin conditions, light‑triggered migraines, or any unexplained scalp lesions.
Micro Needling
Targeted, regenerative scalp therapy to strengthen follicles and support healthy regrowth.
What Microneedling Is & How It Works
Medical microneedling is an advanced, minimally invasive treatment that uses fine, medical grade needles to create controlled micro channels across the scalp. These tiny channels activate the body’s natural healing response, increasing blood flow, stimulating growth factors, and supporting healthier follicle function. Over time, this can help reduce shedding, strengthen existing hairs, and encourage thicker, denser regrowth.
The micro channels also enhance the absorption of targeted topical solutions, making microneedling an excellent partner treatment for regenerative therapies.
At Home Dermarollering or Stamping
Some people choose to use a dermaroller or stamping device at home. While this can offer mild stimulation, it must be approached with care.
Key considerations for home use:
• Depth: Home devices should only be used at shallow, cosmetic depths. Medical depth needling should never be performed at home. For targeting hair growth you should not exceed 0.5mm
• Hygiene: Poor sterilisation can lead to irritation, infection, or folliculitis.
• Technique: Excessive pressure or incorrect rolling patterns can damage the scalp.
• Topical solutions: Not all products are safe to apply after needling. Some ingredients can cause inflammation or chemical irritation when absorbed too deeply.
Home needling can complement professional treatment, but it should always be guided by a trichologist to ensure safety and avoid complications.
In Clinic Medical Microneedling (With EXOGrow Exosome Therapy)
In clinic microneedling is performed using professional grade devices at controlled medical depths, ensuring precision, safety, and optimal results. This deeper stimulation cannot be achieved with home devices and is significantly more effective for supporting hair regrowth.
At House of Trichology, microneedling is available alongside EXOGrow, an exosome based regenerative treatment by DermapenWorld. Exosomes are tiny, cell derived messengers rich in growth factors that help:
• Boost follicle activity
• Reduce inflammation
• Improve scalp environment
• Enhance the overall impact of microneedling
This combination offers a powerful, science driven approach for patients experiencing thinning, shedding, or early stage hair loss.
Course of Treatment
The ideal treatment plan includes:
• 6 in clinic microneedling sessions
• Each session spaced 4 weeks apart
• Non negotiable at home care between sessions
At your first appointment, you’ll receive a complimentary home care set, including the Exo Grow Shampoo, Conditioner, Scalp mask and Scalp tonic (worth £299, included as part of the course)
This ensures your scalp remains supported and primed throughout the treatment process.
After completing the 6 session course, top up sessions every 3–6 months are recommended to maintain progress and keep follicles functioning at their best.
Contraindications & Suitability
Not everyone is suitable for microneedling. If you would like to begin a course of treatment with us, you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire beforehand to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.
PRP
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP is a regenerative treatment that uses your body’s own platelets to support healthier, stronger hair growth. A small sample of your blood is taken and processed to concentrate the platelets, the components rich in growth factors and healing signals. This platelet rich plasma is then gently injected into targeted areas of the scalp to stimulate follicle activity and improve overall scalp health.
How PRP Works
PRP supports hair growth by:
• Delivering a high concentration of natural growth factors directly to the follicles
• Improving blood supply to the scalp
• Reducing inflammation around the follicle
• Encouraging stronger, thicker hair growth over time
Because PRP works with your body’s own healing pathways, results develop gradually and are most effective when used as part of a wider treatment plan.
Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair transplant surgery is a permanent restorative option for individuals experiencing established hair loss, particularly where the follicles in certain areas have become inactive and are no longer capable of producing hair. Unlike other treatments that aim to strengthen existing follicles, a transplant physically relocates healthy follicles from one area of the scalp to another.
How Hair Transplant Surgery Works
A transplant involves taking hair follicles from the donor area (usually the back and sides of the scalp, where hair is genetically resistant to thinning) and implanting them into areas affected by hair loss. These transplanted follicles retain their resistance to thinning, meaning they continue to grow permanently in their new location.
There are two main surgical methods:
• FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction): Individual follicles are removed and implanted one by one.
• FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation): A small strip of scalp is removed and dissected into grafts before implantation.
Both methods aim to create natural looking density and hairline design, with minimal downtime.
When a Hair Transplant Is Most Effective
A transplant is best suited for:
• Androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss)
• Areas where follicles are no longer active
• Patients with a stable pattern of hair loss
A transplant is not a cure for progressive hair loss. Ongoing maintenance treatments are usually required to protect the non-transplanted hair and prevent further thinning.
What to Expect
• Results develop gradually over 9–12 months
• Initial shedding of the transplanted hairs is normal
• New growth begins slowly and thickens over time
• Most people return to normal activities within a few days
• Full density takes time and may require more than one procedure depending on goals
A thorough consultation with a reputable surgeon is essential to determine whether you are a good candidate and what results you can realistically expect.
